I love motorsports. And I want a new generation of young families to love motorsports as much as I do. As such, I was inspired to create a new image for a track and town that I want to become a family oriented sports and entertainment
destination. And something the entire Tri-State region can be proud of and want to visit on a regular basis.
That being said, let me share my vision for the future of the Chandler Raceway.

“Movie”. “Land”. “Speed”. “Park”. The new name for the Chandler Park is made up of four distinct words. Let me explain how I chose this new brand.
Unnamed (1)20170927 23666 3m1q0p
First: “Movie”. I have lived in the Los Angeles area for the past 31 years.

L.A. is known as the movie capital of the world, and for years I had my own company, Reel Drivers Unlimited, which supplied expert drivers to do mainly car stunts to the commercial and television industry.

Prior to moving to L.A. though, as a young man in the 1960’s, I saw every Elvis movie he ever made at a Drive-In Theater. I have such great memories of those days.
Unfortunately, mention Drive-In Movies to most of today’s young people, and you learn quickly very few have ever had the fun experience of being to one.
So…I intend to change that.

One of my early goals is to repave and increase the
size of the dragstrip parking area for the competitors. By doing so, this creates a perfect opportunity for me to install an outdoor movie screen utilizing the increased paved parking area, and turn the property into a Drive-In Theater that shows movies Tuesday-Thursday from late spring to early fall.

This alone will put Chandler on the map.

Second: “Land”. The property is currently 131 acres of land with adjoining acreage that may be available to purchase. Developing and expanding the land area into a
multi-purpose facility will allow for many different types of use and revenue streams.

Third: “Speed”. What more needs to be said? The property has been a motorsports facility since 1964. I intend to expand the current oval track and dragstrip racing operations to include drift events, all types of ATV and motorcycle racing, national karting events (including shifter karts), Stadium Trucks, water sports, and mud racing, etc. These are a few examples of the new types of racing excitement Movieland Speedpark will be bringing to Chandler.

Fourth: “Park”. The land size allows for the creation of a full family park. Movieland will be installing a 4 mile bike path, a small 10 acre stocked fishing pond, a 3 hole professional golf course with a driving and putting range, camping facilities with hookups, football, baseball, and soccer fields, and the world’s largest guitar shaped community swimming pool, plus many other family type activities.

Racetracks, unfortunately, are falling by the wayside and new ones are not being built. To be profitable and self-sustaining, a facility like Chandler has to be multi-dimensional in its use, and be open 5-6 days a week.

And that is my goal.
The complete buildout of Movieland Speedpark will require a totally new infrastructure system and a modernization of the entire facility. It is a 5 year project that began on January 1st, 2018, and is expected to be finished by January 1st, 2023.

Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to seeing you at Movieland Speedpark in Chandler, Indiana!
